Mrs. Wensits has been a part of the Yorkville High School Mathematics Department since her graduation from North Central College in 2007. During her time at YHS, she has taught all levels from Pre-Algebra all the way up through AP Calculus BC.
In 2012, Mrs. Wensits earned her Masters in Educational Leadership from Aurora University. Then in 2013 Mrs. Wensits became National Board Certified in Mathematics/Adolescence and Young Adulthood. This credential has helped her become a reflective educator, a master in her subject matter, and has enhanced her ability to effectively engage students.
In addition to serving YHS as the Applied Mathematics Division Chair, Mrs. Wensits is the Varsity Girls Basketball Coach. She takes extreme pride in building strong well rounded student athletes as well as providing them with experiences through the sport of basketball. Mrs. Wensits also is the originator and leader of the Hoops for Hope: Communities vs. Cancer basketball game between YHS and Oswego High School. An event that has run for 14 years and raises money and awareness for Pediatric Cancer.
Personally, Mrs. Wensits loves being outside, reading a book, watching sports, and traveling. In the fall you also can find her at Notre Dame Stadium cheering on her favorite football team.
