Before his ninth year of service as the proud principal of Yorkville High School, Dr. Travis served five years as the Principal of Plainfield South High School. Additional administrative positions include three years as the Associate Principal for Curriculum & Instruction at Elk Grove High School and two years as the Social Studies Department Chair at Addison Trail High School. Prior to beginning his administrative career, Dr. Travis served as a Social Studies educator at East Aurora and Kaneland High Schools, respectively. 

Dr. Travis earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership at the University of St. Francis, along with an M.S. in Curriculum Leadership and an M.S. in Educational Administration from Northern Illinois University. Before earning a B.A. in History/Urban Studies from Elmhurst College, Dr. Travis served with distinction for seven years in the U.S. Air Force. Personally, Dr. Travis is blessed with the unwavering support of his beautiful wife, Gina, and their two spectacular children, Riley and Brady.
